CGCM3 Predictors
Description
Predictors are large-scale climate variables used by statistical downscaling tools to generate local variables or predictands (observed fields).
The normalized predictor variables derived from the CGCM3 A2-4 experiments (the number 4 corresponds to the fourth member of the ensemble runs) have been calculated in the same way as the CGCM1/2 predictors, except that the calculation was performed directly on the original CGCM2/3 gaussian grid (Flato and Boer, 2001) instead of a regular latitude-longitude grid.

In order to reduce data volume, the global window has been divided into seven smaller windows, with each window encompassing a major land area, with the land-sea boundaries defined according to the CGCM3 land-sea mask. The dimensions of the window are similar to those chosen for the CGCM2 predictors.
