Regional climate models data

Canadian Regional Climate Model (CRCM)

We present here the CRCM approach, a general description of the CRCM and information on different CRCM versions used to produce climate change simulations.

More specific information on the configuration of the CRCM to produce some of these climate change simulations, along with monthly data are available from CCCma's data section.

More information on the CRCM and its different versions is available from CCCma's model section, while information on the regional model's applications and validation can be found on the Canadian Regional Climate Modelling Network.

ARPEGE_Climat_Ouranos v4.4

Through a collaboration established with Météo-France, a first climate projection using the french model ARPÈGE version 4.4 was produced at Ouranos (recent past : 1958-2001, and future climate following SRES A2 : 2038-2081). The grid configuration developed for this purpose is a global spectral grid with a resolution of T159, stretched with a factor of 2.5, and centered at 50°N - 95°W (e.g. Winnipeg, see the orographic mask over North America).

Please note that the ARPEGE data available through the DAI web site are defined on the Polar Stereographic grid of the CRCM, i.e. AMNO grid defined with 182 x 174 grid points (see the land-sea mask)

The source of this model datasets should be quoted in the same way as those for the CRCM : 'The ARPEGE time series data has been generated and supplied by Ouranos' Climate Simulations Team, with a special acknowledgement addressed to Météo France who has provided the ARPEGE_Climat_Ouranos v4.4 and its scientific support to make possible the simulations' and with reference to the relevant publication for the chosen experiment and the model (for the ARPEGE_Climat_Ouranos v4.4, see Déqué and Piedelievre, 1995; Déqué et al., 1998; Gibelin and Déqué, 2003).
