Canadian Regional Climate Model (CRCM)
The Canadian RCM (CRCM) was developed by the ESCER Centre (Centre pour l’Étude et la Simulation du Climat à l’Échelle Régionale, UQÀM), Environment Canada (AIRD) and the Ouranos Consortium. The CRCM simulations were realized by the Ouranos Consortium in partnership with GEC3 (McGill University) and Environment Canada (AIRD).
For recent climate simulations, CRCM is driven either by NCEP/NCAR or by ERA40 global atmospheric reanalysis data, or by Global Climate Model (GCM) data, and follows observed greenhouse-gas and aerosol (GHG+A) concentrations.
In future climate projections, the CRCM has followed various GHG+A scenarios (IS92a, A2, etc.), according to the driving GCM.
More details on CRCM configuration along with monthly datasets are available from CCCma's data section while model's applications and validation can be found on the Canadian Regional Climate Modelling Network.
